Anime ends like it starts, with him having a heart attack. Waking up in an unfamiliar hospital bed, he realizes that he is alone once again. But then he looks around, and surrounding him are all the girls he helped, asleep by his bedside waiting for his recovery.

Epilogue is made. Iwanako, not receiving a reply from Hisao, has felt guilty the entire time. She chooses to attend Yamaku as both a student and intern as an assistant nurse there to help out others because she continues to feel responsible for Hisao's condition, even if it isn't her fault. Hisao and her resolve their differences and end up together.
