It's... okay. My problem with it is that it's slow. Really, really slow. Aquarion EVOL and Rinne no Lagrange are similar shows, but EVOL has better pacing and is generally more entertaining.

I can see Rinne no Lagrange picking up in the second half, though, so that's a plus. Taking half a season to build up to actual conflict is not a good thing to do.

Eh, I'm enjoying both. They're slightly similar but Rinne is just much more light hearted and easygoing. As long as they don't make the ending feel rushed I'm ok with it.

I'm loving it OP, I want more mech fights, but I love all the characters. I am waiting in anticipation for shit to really hit the fan.

And I kinda like Rinne, if only because I think the base commander is hilarious. One of the few characters in anime who has realized how ridiculous his whole situation is.

I actually thought that scene felt forced in there for the sake giving Lan an adorable moment that episode. It was nowhere near as adorable as the "being afraid of storms" Lan.

Why would Lan cry over a haunted house (that she worked on) despite piloting a mech and fighting space fleets?

I'm all for Lan not being a total Rei clone as I expected her, but that was a tad forced.

Yeah, she's aloof and cool, but still a person. Same idea with Lafiel. Even an engineered space elf shows more emotion and humanity than any given Rei-clone.

Madoka is a really likeable MC and that's something very scarce nowadays. She's the kind of leader I would follow to the depths of hell.

Lan is really cute and it's a strange feeling seeing her fail at everything she tries. Muginamidess is okay.

I like Madoka because of the fact that they made her character stubborn and selfish. At the start you thought they were going the Mary Sue route with her but it turns out Madoka is a fairly bad person haaha

I'm a fan of splitting shows up. It allows for better allocation of budgets and gives you time to digest the story in nice snack-sized proportions. I think this trend really got started with Gundam 00. Being a massively expensive show, 50 episodes straight would have made the individual budget per episode suffer.

It and Guilty Crown. That that show's writing, the animation and backgrounds have been great.

There's also Shana III, despite no one watching, has been near constant battle with fantastic visuals. It's really plain to see that JCStaff's main team on working on that one and letting their other shows suffer.

Had high expectations after seeing the first ep. Incredible visuals, awesome mech design, MC is maru.
Enjoyed it for a while. Not so much lately. Not enough mecha action. Too much Jersey Club shenanigans. Huge drop in visual quality (especially the latest ep). Plot is either too slow, too vague or going nowhere. Doesn't know if it should settle for light comedy or drama, so tries to do a bit of both, poorly. Only thing it has going on currently are SOME of the characters.
EVOL gets the job done much better IMO, as it does all of that plus more.

Still watching because of Madoka and Lan, but I really hope it becomes good again soon.
