While we're not a customer-facing position (ie. directly interacting with them) at my job, our office maintains a very business-casual attire. To wear jeans, you have to donate to charity, and if clients are in the office, you're back to business-casual regardless of donation.
But I've worn some of my LP skirts to job and get nothing but compliments over how cute they are. Simple skirt, work-blouse, cardigan, small petti, tea parties and tights. My bosses think it's cute.
Some of my coworkers ask why I don't come in something more extravagant, which actually surprises me, but I save the frilly collars and JSKs for weekends, meets, and parties.
There's a time and a place for everything and sitting in a seat in a giant cupcake petticoat for 8 hours is definitely not one that fits.
