>>142713677>created to sell toys and said "hell yeah".well yes.
The thing with selling toys is that someone put forth effort to figure out what kids like and give it to them, and give it to them well enough they will want to spend money.
So in that way it is more respectful of kids than creator driven cartoons.
A lot of creator driven cartoons are just some stuff the creative team like. Half the time its just dumb luck that kids like it. The orginal nicktoons line up? just dumb luck that any of it was enjoyable. It was just stuff the creators wanted to make. Some stuff knocked it out of the park like Ren and Stimpy and Rugrats. Other stuff like Doug mostly waffled.
People can dunk on toy cartoons all the want, but the intention is still pretty respectful of children. Because you have to start with the basic idea of "what do kids like? What will they love enough to buy? What kind of characters do they like, that we can give them, and they want to buy?"
Something like Doug or now, nushera, I don't think anyone ever asked "what do kids like? Will kids like this?" No, they, the creative team liked it and they just made it.
