problem is they made him repulsive to us too and the gags just weren't executed well, he was too gross and incoherent

Think it was on Oneyplays or somewhere else Zach mentioned that because of Covid they had to make the showed separately. Zach and Cusask couldn't meet in person. Maybe that played part in why Season 2 feels off. We'll see if season 3 has better pacing since likely those eps were made post covid.

season 1 I think was a pressure makes diamonds type situation, because they were on a shoestring budget and had very little staff
often times the first thing you come up with is the funniest and when you have too long to think about it and change it you sort of lose the moment

the best example was the renaissance men. That seemed like a natural conversation because it was a natural conversation they were having at 2 in the morning when they couldn't think of jokes and just started adlibbing dialogue to see what sticks

in this season when they were doing those serious kinda awkward conversations you have to wonder, well they had 2 years to fuck with them and make them not funny. And they don't feel like a real conversation, they feel like a family guy bit

also cusack put out like 2 seasons of his other shows since season 1 leaving the less experienced showrunner to the ropes, hopefully now that the series has risen so much in popularity he'll focus all of his attention into season 3

though the shitty bento box cleanup artists definitely ruined a lot of the scenes. some of the rough stuff posted online by the animators is like 10x more expressive and interesting than what we got in the episodes

Cusack is so hyperfixated on "AUSSIE HYUMAH" he can't seem to tap into why he became popular in the first place. I'm not sure if that's because he "matured" or whatever but the YOLO series (especially season 2) doesn't have the random chaos that made his Youtube shorts and Bushworld so funny, and neither does Koala Man.

episode 2 when charlie puts his pickle jar away there was no lid and in the next shot there is a lid on it

episode 3 mr.landlords eyes get swapped where left is red and right is green, at the end of the episode when he confronts allan his left is green and right is red. earlier in the episode the eyes stayed consistent no matter which direction he was facing

episode 6 when phil is sitting in the lawn chair with his legs crossed he has 2 right feet

episode 8 the yeti has 5 fingers when he first appears and after it cuts back to him a second time he only has 4 fingers

Both A and B plots have some funny and interesting ideas and characters, a sense of direction, and tie up satisfyingly at the end. A lot of the other episodes this season have felt like aimless random bit compilations with boring nothing plots (which I suspect is due to Michael's attention being stretched thin). Whereas in gwimbly, there's a clear sense of progression with how each situation escalates.

Also I feel like the surprise drop on April fools with all the lame puppet shit making you second guess whether or not it was coming made it more of a fun event to watch live

Also AS didn't spoil the episode with their retarded sneak peaks that are plastered all over social media for anyone engaged in the show. The most successful and beloved episode of the season everyone went into blind and was pleasantly surprised by rather than getting half the episode early to imagine your own best ending to and have it roominate before inevitably being disappointed by the actual episode going somewhere else

It wasn't until the brothers egg episode that I started to avoid the AS sneak peaks because they revealed too much of the episodes. The ones after a new episode airs are better gkm22v
