>>146274623I would say Kyle represents a time in Cartman’s life that knows him at his worst - I’m sure there’s a great psychological analysis that can be made, but Kyle can’t bring himself to see past Cartman at his worst because he’s seen and known Cartman at his worst. Years passed and Cartman had a fresh start with his jew wife. In a way, they’re practically different people. Kyle can’t comprehend Cartman being genuinely kind to him since he’s too used to the old Cartman, while Yentl probably wouldn’t be able to fathom the old Cartman treating her the way he would Kyle or Heidi. It kind of sucks but it’s like your personality is tied to your old relationships at certain points in your life and when you try to combine two radically different ones, they’re just totally alien, you may as well be two different people. Kyle and Cartman see each other and the chemicals that trigger rage and frustration trigger. Cartman simply does not have that in a constant feed back loop with his wife, or at least it’s mellowed out. His kids seem pretty angry, but they got the discipline Cartman never did - a mother with firm boundaries telling them no, that’s not okay and a father figure telling them to be respectful of other's.
