I think the Daughters of Aku were great antagonists, and by extention Ashi too.
I also liked how the Jack taught wisdom to the brainwashed zealot, and we got interesting view of how really bad the world under Aku is in the process.
But after that, she really outlived her usefulness of storytelling in later epsiodes.
The ideal would have been the finale shifting to Jack and Aku's dynamic. But I can understand why they didn't go with that out of 2 reasons.
1. Jack have beaten Aku on several occasions, even when he was at a severe disadvantage, like when lost the sword in the graveyard.
2. Aku with his new accent was quite terrible desu.
Another big crime I feel that Aku never managed to be more than a plot device, and they couldn't get back into his threatening evil style.
