>>124328924>>124329054both of them were. steven was being a fucking brat, and greg was irresponsible. however in greg's defence i think his relationship with his parents was more complicated than what he let on. we see that they never opened any of greg's letters or anything, so it looks like they were the kind of family to turn their back on their son just for taking a different path than what they wanted, it doesn't look like they ever once enquired about steven or how greg's life was going in general when he left, despite greg trying to keep in touch with them.
steven is a fucking mess of a child anyway, he's half gem, there's no way he could've been enrolled to a normal school with the amount of shit that was going on through his life and having to learn his powers and shit. there's definitely a lot of things greg could have done better, but from his perspective it's understandable why he more or less handed steven off to the gems to tutor him whilst he supported steven financially from the sidelines as best he could, he built him an entire house for fuck's sake.
though the real issue is just dogshit writing and handling pretty much all of future's conflict and issues fucking horribly.
