The relic has no knowledge of things that have not happened yet. Ozpins question sucked because Salem couldn't be defeated with what currently existed on Remnant. The same question asked now could yield a better answer.

Not really, we had no indication that Salem hates Ozpin in V3 though the conflict in very personal for both given the long divorce proceedings.
Oz's immortality does have something to do with Salem, she is the root cause of it because of what she did.
Maidens weren't Oz's kids, the wizard gave some of his magic to four girls that reminded him of his daughters.
The magic part is fair game.

A) We do not know for sure if the Maidens were actually Ozpin's kids, or if they simply reminded him of them. Even if the former were the case, and the fable was something he began in their memory, it was always presented as a fable, the truth of which could be quite different from what was commonly known. B) Ozpin was the one who said he was rendered immortal for failing to deal with Salem. He is a compulsive liar, and this was just another one of the falsehoods he constructed as war propaganda. The truth is not a retcon.

After the Atlas arc is full of everything going wrong and Atlas being played like a damn fiddle, Vacuo will turn out to actually have their shit together. Salem is trying to cause a race war between humans and faunus as part of a plan to bring about world war 2, at which point she'll call the gods back so they see the war happening and exterminate everyone again.
The series will end with Salem redeeming herself via Ruby's talk no jutsu and patching things up with Ozpin so that they can both die and be at peace in the afterlife or whatever (Oscar won't die from this, the Ozpin voice will just disappear from his head and he'll go back to living a normal life).
The gods will probably get called back, but only after Salem's plan has failed, at which point they'll probably just agree that humanity doesn't need them anymore and fuck off.

The moral of the story will be that violence doesn't solve anything unless you're dealing with grimm, who you should murder indiscriminately because violence is awesome.

The gods weren't trying to take Salem's life, quite the opposite, they were trying to impart on her the value of death, and she was literally made the one human being incapable of sacrificing herself so an entire song about refusing to be a sacrifice doesn't make much sense. Especially when a fair portion of her plotline is her trying to kill herself, not refusing to.

I could totally see Monty having made plans to go full JRPG with this. Volume whatever ends with the Gods being summoned back to Remnant even though the good guys manage to disarm Salem. Salem assumes this means she's won and all life will be wiped out. Of course, all these different humans from various walks of life uniting for one cause fulfills the criteria for the Light Gods' deal on redeeming mankind. Magic has now been returned to Remnant! Ozma is granted one wish for his success and he asks that he and Salem finally be allowed to rest in peace. The Gods oblige, and the team makes their way back to the ruins of Beacon to rebuild.

A post credits scene reveals that the God of Darkness isn't too happy with the terms of the agreement his brother came up with and that he's gathering Salem's surviving allies.

M&K can now draw from the servants of the Dark God for an endless supply of bad guys and season plots. A world where everyone (including assholes) now have powerful magic has a ton of potential. Everything from random joe scmos trying to fight the Creaturs of Grimm and getting slaughtered because of inexperience to disgruntled former workers of the Dust industry can be drawn upon for villains.

I can sort of see that logic but the problem is that it's used in situations (like now) where the mortals and the gods should be roughly capable of understanding each other. If used properly it should be more akin to dealing with Lovecraft or Fey than a more powerful human.

The way I think it works is that Ozma's soul is implanted in the host's body at first as just a voice. Over time, he has the ability to assume control of the body at the host's discretion, and then of his own free will. Eventually, whether he likes it or not, he will gain full control of the body, replacing the host. The original host's soul will remain with him like a voice in the same manner that he once was to them. When the body dies, that person does normally, and Ozma's soul is moved to the next body to continue the cycle.

That's just my take on it.

From the looks of things, with the exception of his first body which was instant takeover and erasure, it seems like the hosts picked are similar enough to himself that they get along. The dude with the family stands out as a prime example of this. Ozpin was obviously the one controlling the body right then, having dinner with the host's wife and kids, and yet the host's spirit seemed content with that. I think they eventually come to an understanding since GoL assured him that he would never be alone. To me, that hints that it's someone he's going to get along with, not someone that hates him and makes him feel alone and empty inside.

Because that's not what they asked Ozpin to do.
They asked Ozpin to collect the relics and summon back the gods to judge humanity.
Ozpin got the relics but kept them separate because he then figured it was time to sort humanity out and whip them into shape for the gods return.
His mission has nothing to do with Salem specifically, just that she happens to be his major obstacle in accomplishing this one thing.

Consider that Ozpin Prime's power level was 4 Maidens + some unknown (but significantly stronger than Qrow level) amount of power. And at best he could fight Salem to a draw, except Salem is immortal and Ozma was still mortal.

Even post-Maiden Ozpin as the King of Vale was strong enough to single handedly change the tide of the Great War and basically nuked Vacuo (forcing EVERYONE on all sides into surrender) is a apparently only a fraction of Salem's power level.

I shudder to imagine the sheer bullshit that RWBY will pull out of their asses to beat her, assuming they're all the chosen ones who will beat Salem since they're the main characters/

Way I see it, either
A) Hazel takes the blame for himself and is reprimanded (possibly killed)
B) Places the blame on Raven, who descended into the cavern with Cinder, and then neither of them returned with the Relic

I'd say "Or just blames RWBY", but as they won and acquired the Relic, obviously Salem will be targeting them anyway, and not "Blame" them for her own force's loss.

Cinder's. Literally everything that went wrong due to a change of plans or a bad call was Cinder's fault. The only thing she couldn't account for was Raven being the Spring Maiden and Blake's militia, and even then she was almost evenly matched with Raven and very nearly won. It's weird, cause they've announced two different artists attached to RWBY Manga. An adaptation of Vol. 1-2 by a "Kohei Kusu", but then they're also named this "Bunta Kinami", but never really specified if they changed artist, or if it's two different manga?

I think it's two different manga, since they did reiterate that Kusu's manga was coming even after announcing Kinami's. Further, I think the V1-2 adaptation is set for mid-2019, around the time of the After the Fall novel's release?

So whatever Kinami's manga starting next week is, it's something different. Probably.
