Epic tier: Oswald loves his wife. Spent his youth sowing a lot of wild oats though. Loving father to his many children. A little more daring than Mickey could ever be. Bear Pete. The Dachshund. On ones. On-model for 1928. Everything we love about the 1927-28 shorts. Just enough from the Lantz shorts to not confuse viewers. No continuity. Variety of settings spanning the globe and history.

Good tier: Oswald and Mickey are brothers. Full House style sitcom. Set in 1927 and history unfolds. Set in 2020 but he's not overly confused. Wholesome but somehow still abstract and surreal, maybe a few suggestive gags. Oswald and Ortensia both have good singing voices and there are musical segments. First season is light-hearted and no continuity. Later seasons get more serious and consequential. Lasts five years or until more than half the original staff leave.

Give it a chance tier: House of Mouse spinoff. Excessive 4th-wall-breaking. Set in 2020 but he's a 1927 fish out of water. Educational. LGBT character. Characters discuss cartoon tropes backstage or in the epilogue. Actual time travel. Some continuity. Dialogue-driven. An actual woman-shaped character for everyone to waifu. Disney character cameos. Nope tier: Continuation of Epic Mickey. That rhyming Mad Doctor from same. Any premise where Oswald is bitter about Mickey. Character that is coded but never confirmed gay. Time travel that affects continuity with lots of dialogue explaining what happens. Any Seth Macfarlane influence whatsoever. Mickey 2013 animation style.

Shit tier: Out-of-work bitter has-been actor staging a comeback. Any premise where Oswald and Mickey are enemies. Animaniacs-style pointless censor-baiting "finger Prince" style jokes. Cartoon tropes are routinely discussed aloud during an actual adventure that employs them. Yeeting all the YOLO memes for the kids. Runs for 20 seasons.
