It's not forgotten. It was a great show, everyone knows that. It was pretty far left, but that didnt't and doesnt bother me.
But then that movie came out, added a tranny, and scolded the audience about being forced to accept change, and that you should never enjoy the things you liked when you were younger.

The movie just left a bad teste in most peoples mouth, so the show is retroactively disregarded in conversation. Sort of like how game of thrones is never talked about because of how bad the ending is.

Don’t pay attention to this. The show is fucking great and strikes the right balance between ‘zany’ for kids, and surreal allegory for adults. The movie wasn’t great but that could be said about almost any show that tries to bring something back well after the heyday.

kablam is super cozy to me, it brings me back to being a kid more than anything else. Probably because it was on such a niche time slot for a small amount of time, but stood out so much that it's just cemented in my brain.

Also June was my first cartoon crush. Gave me a thing for blue hair which has ruined my life ever since.

I always saw Rocko as a poor man's Ren & Stimpy, people aways give Ren & Stimpy shit for the grossout but they also had good slapstick and cool one off episodes like the Powdered Toast Man one, Rocko was mostly "haha sex, poop joke" and it got boring after a while, Rocko as a character is pretty shit, I know they want him to be the straight man to all the crazy stuff but he's so fucking boring!

Joe Murray is close friends with John K tho and unlike John's other friend (Mike Judge), Murray's art style is way too similar to Ren & Stimpy IMO
