Because Adam is a Barbarian, and they suck.

Adora is a Cleric, and clerics are awesome.

Why didn't the spell they cast on Adora also change her looks, so one would even know where to begin looking for her? Hell, make her a dark elf like Skeletor for extra cover.

We are all proud of He-man being the first cartoon gay hero main-character. In the 80's it was quite a step.

She-Ra actually tried to have some lore, and character background.

Adam sucks without He-Man, but you could cut She-Ra out of the equation entirely, and Adora still has the chance to be an interesting character.

Wasn't his story a lot like Peter Parker? I never saw an origin, but Adam was a spoiled coward before He-Man. Then with great power, etc.

And he can still be gay and heroic, you know. He-Man takes a lot of flack, but I don't think most people dislike the character. Even the 80s show has campy appeal.
