This is actually really great scripting and paneling because it fairly accurately captures the whole "blink and you missed it" pacing of a crowded Coney Island/NYC scene.
On the other hand, the scene itself is boring as fuck. The conversation is uninteresting and the artist has completely drained any appeal these girls have.

Why did All-New Ultimates suddenly become the new comic everyone who doesn't read comics comes in for storytimes to talk about how awful it is and nothing makes sense? With Superior Spider-man I at least got they were just mad, but what's up with this? Is it because Miles is in it?

Shit guys, this is not even a tenth as bad as Ultimatum. I'm just annoyed they're having trouble with gang members. Admittedly, the Ultimate Universe as a whole, having undergone two genocidal events, one climate-altering event, two civil wars and several nuclear exchanges, should be having difficulty feeding its people at all.
Anonymous
Is this my illusion, or marvel simply doesn't put any resources in this should-be-important title? I mean we get terrible art sometimes, we get terrible writers sometimes ( or maybe quite often), but the combination of these two? Bloody hell, that's something rare for a title like this one.

In that specific scene, the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk is so intense that you really can't be aware of everything around you. Like the other Anon said, it really is a "blink and you miss it" situation. As for the comic, it reflects the idea that our heroes are in the dark, that all the major action is taking place without their knowledge. We get to see some of the action, but they get to see none of it.
A skip like that doesn't work for every scene of every comic, but I think it fits here.

The entire socio-political spectrum of the Ultimate-verse should have shifted to something entirely dissimilar to the real world.
