Silence that was derived from lack of anything, rather than a lack of something. Cold that sucked at the flesh with an unrelenting hunger for warmth, desperate for even the most meager of offerings. The shrouded embrace of a void that stretched on for what seemed like eternity.
A specter of silver light struck a line through the void.
Discharge from the slip-space drives bent reality behind the Tau starship,
Narrow necked with a wide sweeping tail as sleek and graceful as the sea life on T'au. For a silent eternity it stands in space moving without point of reference. To either side rode sleek, mean void fighters. Precise engines of violence to guide the diplomatic vessel through the cold light years,The transmitters chirping with the idle chatter between the pilots that flew in lazy drifting sweeps by the envoy's side.
Within the envoy, tau and other auxiliary species walked down the smooth white halls. Some human, some Tarellian, a drone here and there, even a lone Kroot could be seen skulking about the ship. Each time he passed by a set of double doors he would pause, clicking in thought before heading off to some other direction.
Through these doors was where the more esteemed diplomats worked. Gaining a private office space along with a separate residential room. Behind the second to last glistening white door sat a female tau diplomat.
The data-slate was horridly uninteresting, the usual song and dance about trending prices and how the Empire was putting together another force to attempt to expand even more. She skimmed over the lines. Something about a Tyranid fleet sighted near the system. She turned the slate off, the circular disk collapsing into a small tube.
A chime from a ceiling speaker calls out for a certain watercaste to make their way to the bridge.
You are now the diplomat, what do?

Also, I see a lot of inanimate TF but, shockingly little sex/being used comics. even less with thought bubbles with the TF person. Little weird.
