Let people keep the fruits of their labor (low taxes) and let people decide what they need from whom they want at their price.
Just because we need things like healthcare, food,clean water, air, energy land does not mean that they should be free either. All of these resources are scarce, and or require serious man hours to produce to the masses. Naturally the most moral thing to do is to compensate the person who provided the resource or service and simply paying them for what you need or want is near impossible to beat.
Plus when you have the government do a service typically it often becomes a monopoly driving out competition. Resulting in a long term trend in worse quality of what ever “nice thing you wanted”.
I am not saying that our system is ideal, it needs fixing, but socialism will not yield the results you desire.
