One thing you should realize is the HD800 are a headphone that is extremely good when it comes to EQ - they respond extremely well. Want more bass? EQ, Want more treble? EQ etc...
A lot of other headphones I've tried such as the LCD4 don't compare, they have recessed mids/treble in comparison. I sometimes wonder how much millions they actually spend on the hd800 R&D knowing despite it's age it still rapes other headphones without breaking a sweat.
