been doing some reading on the Silk Road and Dread Pirate Roberts. for someone who isn't familiar with the history, it's really fascinating
my question is why a second site such as the SilkRoad hasn't risen to similar popularity? I've got to assume that similar websites exist, but why hasn't one risen to the level of prominence of SilkRoad yet? Why haven't tech sites reported on it?
As far as I can read, Ross Ulbricht got caught by using similar usernames across different websites (of all the fucking things). If it was this that led to his downfall, is Tor (and other privacy programs) as bulletproof as they look?
