Have fusion reaction scientists ever experimented with real helium 3 from the moon to see what it does or we haven't even gotten to it and we're basically figuring out a substitute we can find on earth?

The Helion company (if it's not a scam) claims that (if it works) they will have two kinds of reactors, one that takes deuterium and helium 3 and produces more helium 3, and a power reactor that takes more helium 3 and produces more power.
It's a neat idea (if it works) because it generates power (supposedly) directly from the magnetic field of the fusing plasma, instead of going through a boiler -> steam -> turbine -> generator.
