What is the best way to administer an empire for long-term success?
Examples: Macedonian Empire, Roman Empire (East and West), Ottoman Empire, British Empire etc.

Yes, so what is the ideal Empire in this regard? It should've been a state which had a strong identity, good administrative divisions, a good army and some other things.

Empires are failures by their nature. They exist to extract resources from some and bring them to others - for the people who live in them, excepting the elite and the imperial core, they are always failing.

If you mean the best way to run one for the success of its elite, I can suggest the Byzantine model of court honours and salaries. Bring all the wealth to the centre, then distribute it out - keeps the interest of the army and the nobiliy centred on maintaining the state, allows resources to be pooled and used efficiently.

Germanic style settler colonial administration.
Make it illegal for the native population to own land. Give the land to your settlers. Give the settlers more legal rights. Create policies that incentivizes the settlers to have more kids. Deport the natives to reservations or kill them.

The danish never did that in any of their five colonial possesions.
Neither did germany (Colonial empire was a good joke), the netherlands (merchants first, pirates second, settlers third) or sweden (Just lmao) really did anything similar. So calling it germanic is rather inaccurate, it's like calling spain's method of colonialism the "latin style" as if there weren't oither latin countries with radically different ways of colonialism.

I feel like, just for pure longevity + size, it's hard to beat the "Chinese civilization". Doesn't matter how many times they blew up, were conquered, humiliated, etc.

Let each locality be democratic and let them run themselves how they like. Have a strict set of rules that are the same everywhere. Be meritcratic. Enforce the rule of law and have courts for punishing people and settle disputes.
