The Khitans and Mongols never settled en masse in China. Khitan ruled from Mongolia, only controlled 1% of northern China and never moved their people into China. The Khitan and Mongols did the opposite and mass deported Han Chinese from northern China into Mongolia. Khitan built entire Han cities (Hancheng) in Mongolia to settle Han deportees. Mongols deported Han Chinese to Tannu Tuva and Yenisei in Siberia and Samarqand and Bukhara in Central Asia. The Han Chinese deported to Mongolia mixed with the Khitan and Mongols of Mongolia while Han Chinese in China were left alone.
