I feel proud to be Latvian, even if it is small and struggling country.
I feel proud to be Balt, despite most not knowing we differ both from Slavs and Germanics.
I feel proud to be Baltic, as our future depends on how well we can cooperate and as small nations we must support one another.
But when it comes to being a European, I don't even feel like one.
I feel connection to both Estonia and Lithuania. I wish prosperity to both Finland and Poland who during Interbellum emerged together with the Baltics. I feel closer to Belarus than I do to Western Europe.
I feel nothing against Germany, Sweden, France, Britain. As whorish as it sounds, their only value to me is the fact that they are wealthy, but if we were to remove that factor, I would rather move to one of the Visegard countries then the West.
I would even say Western countries disgust me. Perhaps it is envy and jealousy, perhaps it is something in your attitude, maybe it is both.
Perhaps it is the fact that Former oppressors(All Western Powers being Empires at one point) can never understand the formerly oppressed(All Eastern countries having been controlled at least once).
It is less of an European Union and more an Union in Europe.
