Buying then renting out real estate in the US is the single biggest draw even from Mainland China moneyed Chinese, much more with deep pocketed local Pinoy politicos. Investment wise, nobody comes close to Gloria Arroyo, who may be followed by Fariñas, the Revillas, the Estradas, the Llamanzares-Poes, the Cayetanos, the Gordons, the Pacquiaos, Honeylett Avancena, and many well heeled Pinoy Chinese who choose between the US and Vancouver - but the US always wins out as an investment destination.
There are even Chinese syndicates operating tours from China to the US where the Chinese woman is able to deliver their babies inside the USA thereby creating an entire generation of moneyed American babies of pure Chinese descent (parang si Robin Padilla lang at si Mariel) whose parents have made substantial investments inside the US.
Here in the Philippines, except for the Marcoses who are banned by US Federal Court from owning any American assets; most notable families with dollars to spare have sent their children to US schools while quietly investing in real estate and in US bonds, securities there.
, when the US Senate proposed to ban some Pinoy officials responsible for the illegal imprisonment of Sen. Leila Delima, many were shookt because the security of enjoying their secretly hoarded assets was directly threatened.
Nobody is sure in this admin if their name won't be included in the denial of entry list - and their kitty for "retirement" may become inaccesible. Gulong ng buhay lang yan DDS, and your fabulous time may be up. Its just a fact of life, too.
