I'm enjoying the energy and momentum it's brought to the nation, I can't remember a time I've seen so many gears moving: carbon tax is getting removed, energy east is being talked about, inter-provincial barriers are (probably) going to be removed, they say military spending will be doubled (originally slated for 2036, but now 2030), the immigration quota has been revoked and we're ?sending people back for the first time in quite possibly forever?
The thing is though; how long will it last? Are our leaders still in denial and just putting on a good front while they wait for a change in leadership/attitude (that's 100% not going to fucking happen) or do they actually understand that not only is this the new reality, but that things are going to get worse in real time?
This also touches on a thought I've had in the past 5 years or so: is modern nation building actually just impossible now? Can societies and people actually make decisions and stick to them? Or are we truly just 100% zogged out, nihilism pilled, "it's been 6 weeks, so I'm done with this specific topic and am going back to doom scrolling" ?
