Palestinian took a considerable amount of civilian hostages in the attack. They are going out of their way to be seen as the bad guys torturing raping woman etc...
Could this be the basis for something similar to the entebbe raid?
Palestinian commandos backed by hezbollah and hamaz are probably much more competent than whatever the hell Idi Amin had back then, do you think we'll get an epic showdown between them and IDF special forces trying to rescue the hostages?

Like, getting suicided ? I personally believe it was either a political fuckup, or some generals got too complacent. There were actually warnings from the Mossad that something could happen after summer. They try to incriminate the Israeli intelligence services but Gaza is actually a pretty small area, it's not that hard to monitor it. Don't forget that the US intelligence agencies have A LOT of assets there as well.

Something fishy is going on, as always.

You're overestimating the blame that will be placed on Israel for this, Hamas will be seen as the ones entirely at fault for the deaths of these hostages. The US and other countries will probably be mildly upset that the hostages were killed, but it won't lead to even a minor reduction in standing for Israel. Foreign nationals have been killed on Israeli soil multiple times by Hamas, they're basically hated by everyone outside of Iran at this point.

The army was giving out warnings because of the internal political turmoil, Netanyahu was doing some very divisive and strong shit with his judicial reform. But of course, whatever shit the goverment tries to do the general population takes it as a given that they will also keep the geopolitical situation within reasonable limits (for israeli standards) when they don't its a huge shitfest.
It's like if russia and china were right next to the us instead of across the ocean and they took advantage of the internal division that ocured when trump rose to power, the military would have warned about this but ultimately their hands would have been tied because civilian leadership has the ultimate word. Also there's a certain limit to how big of a warning you can give to the civilians that their actions are giving the enemy an opportunity to attack because if it sounds too worried/convincing this will incite them further

Even in that operation 2/3 hostages killed during the raid were shot by Israelis. They got the hostages out no question about that but the Israelis have always put success of the mission first, which doesn't always mean getting all of the hostages out alive. You must not read anything outside of media from the US / western Europe. The vast majority of the world is either indifferent to what happened to Israel or stands in solidarity with Hamas/Palestine.
And no, the entebbe raid worked because the hostages were all centrally located, had convenient infiltration/extraction by virtue of the rescue taking place at an airport, and featured a few hundred identifiable combatants at best.
Gaza meanwhile is a rat's nest of 2+ million hostile Palestinians, in a 300+ sqkm urban hellscape, where combatants seamlessly blend in with the civilians, with a dense network of tunnels underneath. There is no way in hell the hostages are gonna be found especially when they're most likely going to be dispersed. They'd need extraordinary good HUMINT to pull something like that off, something they've been lacking when it comes to Gaza for obvious reasons

I believe it's not the israelis who fucked up in this case.
Until now the palestinians had an extremely powerful enemy which was restrained because of international law, they gave them a chance to completely ignore it. Well, we are going to get the guys who raped kids and elderly and put them in cages. Many western governments don't want to even get to the point of mounting the op and will go to great lengths to minimize the threat to the hostages whenever they do have to mount an op, at the cost of more risk to the people involved. The Israelis are willing to risk the hostages more if it means they can pull off the op. It's a subtle difference in mindset that doesn't equate them to the Russian "bomb them all approach", just less risk adverse compared to the west.

They don't get to lay claim the land as if it was theirs all along just because they lived on it thousands and thousands of years ago. this is just Bibi chimping out and trying to regain his authority as a strong leader, Destruction of hamas and rescuing hostages (especially international ones) are objectives that don’t overlap too well, and I think it is at least understandable that the IDF will focus on wiping out the thread first
