Well, Decade's AU Hibiki had Gyuki, which was the idea that an Oni overtaken by their powers becomes a Makamou. Nothing like that was ever referenced in the original Hibiki though.

Is there a possibility that there will be more emphasis on legend rider based power ups from now on? Ultraman has pretty much been doing that since Ultraman Orb did so well, and Bandai makes toys for both shows.

It's actually possible.

If you look at Bandai's old expectations for Zi-O, they actually seemed to think that Legend Rider items were a bad idea and would actually bring down sales coming from Build.

But now that they saw that they actually sell really well if they push them in the series itself rather than just merchandising or one-off specials, they might want that again, even if to a smaller extent.

The Rider Armors are basically convention costumes, Zi-O II, Zi-O Trinity, and Grand-Zi-O are fucking ugly, and the Ridewatches aren’t even that special; many of the previous collectible devices had Legend Rider variants and we’re arguably much better. Why Zi-O is doing nearly as well as OOO and Fourze and better than Build is beyond me.

I think Ohmori could actually do it well though. Build already had people running around with Ex-Aid tech in the show itself (the Kaisers) they just never mentioned it after the movie, so it feels like he'd be able to push things in that direction in a stronger way tying unrelated series together, if Bandai actually asks for it.

Core Medals just called the Rider names, and don't even have combos outside of Tamashi (which doesn't even work in the original belt). Ghost Eyecons had no sounds by themselves. They had an unique transformation jingle, but then the attacks were just "Rider name" Omega Drive! Even Zi-O's are more creative with mixing the attack names.

The only thing comparable to the Watches is really the lockseeds (which, yeah, I like them better), with the unique transformation jingle, three different attacks and belt and weapon pictures inside it.

The Zi-O Driver/Jikuu Driver/Ziku Driver/Spacetime Driver is honestly one of the best belts in recent memory. It's very sleek and the colors are simple and appealing. Koyama and Onishi are also great as the voice element and the jingles aren't too obtrusive.

Not at all, past gimmicks could be completed in pure DX and in relatively affordable means. Ridewatches only throw in certain riders and forms to one specific quality and the overall playability is just all over the place. Whereas most past gimmicks have longlasting fun due to mix-and-match options and usually good representation in show, ridewatches get dull real fast after you hear it once, have no unique mix-and-match sounds, and mostly get either only 1-2 form appearances or the form simply does not exist at all.

I think Ex-Aid is slightly better, in that it doesn't quite have the same quality drop as Build's last act in terms of both the narrative and in making use of the final form's abilities. Genius's fights are some of Build's least impressive, while several of Muteki's fights are among Ex-Aid's flashiest and most memorable. When Build is at its best, it's the best that Rider's ever been, but Ex-Aid is more consistently excellent.

Ex-Aid lost all its steam after Muteki, and it slowed down significantly after Dan's first death, Parad could not carry the main villain role. Chronus's debut was good, but Masamune stopped being a threat after Muteki curb stomped him.

Build's narrative drop was due to the movie serving as a big emotional climax for the entire daddy issue arc, and obviously we didn't get to see it until the series is long over. The hazard-> fullfull bottle arc was the peak of the series for sure, but it had nowhere near Ex-Aid's level of quality drop. No excuse for Genius, but as a trade-off all the major Evolt fights had great pyrotechnic though instead of CG fires, Magma vs Phase 1 and the 4 way Rider Kick in particular

Up until now, I'd never really thought about how piss poor the series' execution is relative to the concept's full potential. But instead of being a swiss army rider with powers of and beyond all other riders, Sougo just used Zi-o as his base form even when it had no style or value. It's literally Swordy McRiderkick with a watch strap strapped on. Honestly would've preferred it if Zi-o II was just THE quintessential Zi-o watch that later got used with another trinket to access Grand Zi-o. The versatility of just the time belt, decawatch and super watch could've anchored the series up until all the watches were collected. Trinity was never truly needed except for budgetary reasons.

Also, fuck Trinity. Fuck it to rider hell. It's fugly, impractical and reduces sll the other ridewatches to sockdrawer fodder. Ginga needed to come sooner so Woz could get the ginga watch and then the three could've just fought together with their respective final forms.

For Dinner, Tsukasa eats all his remains and drinks his blood.

To end, Tsukasa shits his dinner on the roof of Kuji Goji Do, leaving it for the birds.

Absolutely untrue. Despite being outbeaten by Muteki after a long win-streak, Masamune continues to use devious plans that attack the heart of the CR team instead of with just brute strength (blackmailing Emu to not transform at the risk of Saki's data, forcing Emu and Parad to fight, purposefully absorbing Gamedeus himself to keep the game going after the creation of the vaccine, etc...). Masamune has always been trying to be 2 steps ahead of everyone else, and the reasons he ends up falling back down is within logical grounds within the story's worldbuilding. Only real complaint would be if PAUSE could get another episode to last longer, but within the given episode limit, Ex-Aid manages to pull off a good finale and ending on its own.

This shit just writes itself. They were so focused on having Sougo be Zi-o from the start that they missed out on the Zi-o watch simply being the culmination of his watch collecting efforts. The time belt itself was enough of a fanfic tier concept to carry the rest of the show.

Heck, Sougo didn't even use the Zi-o watch for anything that another ridewatch couldn't have accomplished, so it would've been much more iconic as the thing Zi-o needed to finally become his kingly self.

Instead we got an entire series worth of base form jobbing because using the time belt to its full build-like potential would've cost a bit more. Fuck those toei kikes for ruining what could've been a god tier anniversary series.

The same reason Zeta Gundam's Zeta Gundam is a mid season upgrade. It's more impactful when the title form is awesome and practical. Just look at Kabuto. His first appearance was so big dick that it bent the laws of space and time.

In contrast, Zi-o's base form is like Kiriya calling himself Hibiki while only having his silver Oni form, and then jobbing nonstop just to rub shit in the wound. Such forms don't deserve the name nor even their own existence. Giving the zi-o moniker to anything but Grand, Oma and Another Zi-o was basically the show styling on itself.

The fact is, Zi-o never should've been anything less than the emperor of time, a goal for Sougo to strive for and reach rather than a buffoon in a watch themed costume who can't do anything with his own power.

This isn't usually an issue with Rider though since the enemies aren't public presidents of companies with identities known by the cast who go right back to their home after battle. Masamune's style was pretty unique for Rider, but it just didn't land well to a lot of people after he was surpassed by Muteki.

They outright say they didn't want to destroy the Watch earlier in the episode. They've also said that Zi-O II can destroy Watches just because it's that strong in its debut so there's no reason he can't hold back.
