>>37542147So, here is an opinion of someone who has been on the fandom for over 10 years.
G4 was so carefully crafted that the characters were consistent and full of life, and pleased the most exigent of the viewers who also never liked much of cartoons (like me). Part of why you all hate G5 is correlated with how high the bar was set with G4. I know many people who are SO attracted to the characters, that it filled a void inside them, and then when the show ended it was like losing a loved one.
And i couldn't agree more, that the movie and the characters, as of now, don’t match what was before built. Hasbro is not getting that luck again.
They want to reach to the new public, the ‘social network dependent’ and ‘lazy kids that wanna change the world from behind their screens’ people, it was clear since the first article about G5, and comparing such thing with the previous generation is dumb, and inneficient.
The movie indeed disappointed me too, as they didn’t say how the magic was gone, how Sunny’s father disappeared, why ponies were divided, and a lot of other things. It was generic, just a one hour and half trailer for the new series.
The part I enjoyed whas the ‘eye candy’ one, as i love 3D and the movie is well made and animated.
What I still don’t understand is how (You) can be so mad about it being like this. Wasn’t it obvious? Do you love to hate things? Are you part of the generation who don’t accept things if they are different from what you envision? G4 ended already. G5 will not continue it’s legacy, let’s move on. Or at least enjoy what is to be enjoyed and don’t fucking cry about it, because if your life is so dependent on pastel collored horses, you ain’t nothing better then the public this movie is aimed for.
