>>41503680No, Equestria Games is an objectively bad episode. In every metric. As a Spike episode, it makes him a fuck-up retard where he bumbles into deeper shit by his own stupidity. So you can hardly feel bad or sympathetic to him other than being subjected to the laziness of writers. None of the humor is good, it's entirely reliant on the chat making fun of it.
It squanders the fucking season long build up to the Equestria Games such that we don't get to see any of the fucking games. No, it can't be viewed in isolation from all the build up because it's the only Equestria Games episode and they tacked on the medal count Ponyville wins bullshit, which is basically a throwaway line. It would've been great to see Ponyville win instead of just being told it.
It even hints at a better moral/subplot, when Twilight is forced to choose between sitting with the Princesses and embracing her new status or sitting with her old friends. At least if they did that, it'd tie into the season long arc.
