Starlight's worst sin is lying to her followers, other than that lie they all respected her greatly, they were even willing to continue with the cult if Starlight gave up her cutie mark as well. So forgiving her for that lie was pretty easy. Of course, she had her misguided ideology, but her followers willingly joined the cult because they all had cutie mark related issues as well, aside from not being able to do fun stuff with their cutie marks they all had each other as friends in their little community.
The timeline shenanigans? That's all it was, shenanigans. All she did there was bully Dashie, the rest of the timelines played out due to Celestia jobbing which is not Starlight's fault. The only pony who witnessed that was Twilight and Twilight understood that Starlight did not intend for any of the timelines to go so astray. Twilight also understood that Starlight only wanted revenge because of what she did to her town and it was easy to forgive her for that just like with Trixie.
In contrast, Trixie took over Ponyville forcefully and treated them badly so it makes sense that the villagers would be wary of her. Ponyvillians are also retards that victimized Trixie in Boast Busters so there's that too, honestly not sure what the writers were thinking there. But anyway, for Sunset she was an asshole to everyone, no one respected her, then she mind controlled everyone to use as child soldiers, so obviously the victims would hold a grudge on Sunset for everything she did to them.

The early staff did not respect Trixie either, just look at how empty her appearances are before S6. If there's anyone you should get mad at it's Faust, she greenlit Boast Busters, she conceptualized Trixie as a permavillain,
