It presents a completely conservative view of the world. All other races, most of whom are biologically compelled to violence and loyal only to themselves, are one-note caricatures whose kingdoms barely function, and make little effort to respect pony values when they visit. Ponies are sent by magic to spread the values of friendship to the creatures, who cannot reach a higher level of civilization without being taught lessons in basic decency.
This should be a chud's wet dream, but because at the last second turn the characters will then towards the camera and say "this is good, actually", people think this show is communist propaganda, so nobody is happy - if you're on the left the show is flawed on principle, and if you're on the right it doesn't pat you on the back enough to be enjoyable.
The only people this could possibly appeal to are liberals, who represent the median western voter - a tissue-thin veneer of leftism wrapped around a fundamentally reactionary core.
