The show dilutes its fantasy elements with bland, uninspired modern day shit more and more to where they can't excuse it as something to convey a joke or concept more easily to little kids.
Almost nobody cares anymore. None of the original writers are left. Anyone from the fandom who cared about the lore left (no writefags or drawfags even touch lore or do anything creative).
MLP has already reached peak corruption (as per Rule 15) and all that is left is to feed off of its parasites.
Personally, if I wanted lore episode today, I'd be better served writing a fanfic made pre-Twilicorn.
