Turns out teleporters are not hack-able in game because they are extremely complex and set up specifically for this whole war thing (which, because all combatants can respawn and the battlefields are set aside in designated zones, is more of a political/sport than an actual full on war, the three factions are just vying for influence and playing a popularity contest). He realizes he probably just fucked something up, and promptly tries to get himself transferred to a distant outpost somewhere else to avoid any resulting fallout.
And so as usual, the MC comes home, on schedule, and unwittingly gets materialized by a now faulty system and so becomes pone. After a brief panic, Sam realizes it was probably that Avery guy, because he is the only one crazy or ballsy enough to try that kind of thing and so sets out to track him down and get cured of this condition.
he can't fix it, every time he tries it just screws up in a new way, which will allow the main character to go through being an earth, unicorn, and pegasus all in one story, as well as some other unintended side effects as the systems try to deal with something they were never intended to.
