>>36725581It can be annoyig hearing the same argument repeatedly, but if you do some actual research into what communism is, and what famous "communist" countries like China, the USSR, etc... were/are, you will notice the discrepancy yourself. And then that will lead to one of two conclusions; either the definition is a lie, or the claim that these countries are communist is a lie.
>>36729274 sums up communism in a maybe oversimplified but brief way. It also becomes funnier when you learn that a lot of actual bolsheviks were executed under Stalin's rule during the Great Purge, further showcasing that while he may have led the communist party, the USSR fell more closely into the realm of a fascist dictatorship.
Funnily enough, the communist party in the US was a lot more significant before and during the great depression. Roosevelt convinced the wealthy elite to take a 96% tax on every dollar made after 25k (today would be 350k) to pay for social security, welfare, and millions of federal jobs, and the only reason they agreed was because the communist party was actively organizing millions of workers and unemployed. And when the communist party is more or less a ghost of its past self today, and the advent of McCarthyism takes place a decade later, you begin to see why so much effort is put into "communism is bad, look at Russia for proof" instead of looking at communism objectively, and analyzing/criticizing it without attacking countries we're told are "dirty commies."
I'm not gonna tell you communism is good, or capitalism bad, or socialism is okay but only on weekends. But I will tell you to take a moment to think about these "no-brainers" that are apparently common knowledge, and everyone knows, and you'd have to be an idiot or baiting to not know, and ask more questions about "why" or "how" and look a little deeper. Either you find out you were right all along and you have the tangible evidence to prove it, or you find out maybe there was more to it you didn't know before. Both cases you benefit.
