>>40164787>rather than just another traditional villain confrontation. That's not what I was alluding too and even if it were, the fact that i's a cliche doesn't make it bad. It's about how it's executed.
>I much prefer what we got on a conceptual levelThere are other ways to explore that as well as other concepts to explore in general.
>Rather than them just confronting the DazzlingsI didn't say that. I said they would be 'confronted' with the presence of their former enemies who they never reconciled with and have to deal with that directly. This never happened in EqG and I think it's something that would be interesting to see rather than Sunset breaking into the Dazzlings' van like a common thief.
>they meet up randomly out of pure circumstanceSo? You say that like it's a problem.
>a special about Sunset and the gang actively searching to reconcile this mistakeThere's nothing to suggest they were interested in doing so in all the time that passed which says a lot. Both when Sunset picked up their broken gems on the stage at the end of RR and when Adagio admitted her mistake Sunset showed an arrogant attitude. She clearly enjoys seeing them humbled which would suggest some spitefulness on her part. Maybe she's resentful of the fact that the girls were better at her old game than she was. Who knows.
>Twilight returning to right Star Swirl's original sinSci-Twi being the one to help the Dazzlings adjust to their new home would be better in my opinion. Just makes more sense and would help the girls start to trust humans as a whole.
>That all is probably way to ambitious for this show though.Sadly yes.
>And what? Just have an unpleasant encounter with them or something? No. Why do you keep assuming this? Is that all you can envision happening? Just the most generic outcome? Stop putting words in my mouth if you want to have a a genuine conversation so I don't have to keep going back to correct things I never said.
>the interaction we did get anyway. The context of that scene was an insult to every character involved except Adagio. It never should have happened.
>left the festival to find their next their next gig or somethingAs far as I'm concerned that would be the uninteresting outcome. Plus it makes no sense given the context.
>I don't imagine they stuck around they are busy hustlin. They're seen walking around before going back to their van. Why would they leave a giant festival full of people they could expose to their music as well as other artists they could potentially network with? That's fucking dumb. They only left because Sunset was being an asshole.
>I like that they just kind of show up and leaveThey made themselves a last minute addition which likely means they genuinely wanted to be there and for good reason. Sonata even says it was their best show yet. They only left because Sunset was being an asshole.
>makes the world feel a little less constructed.Lmao yeah, in a series filled to the brim with tropes and cliches.
