I'm not here to debate the exact meaning of the the text or how to interpret the structure of the book per se. I really don't care about that with regards to a story that almost certainly won't impact the series in any meaningful way (now who's being subjective?), like virtually everything else since LoE.
But I am surprised that three antagonists who have been so iconic to the series and whose fate had been such a huge source speculation for the fandom could be treated so unceremoniously. Their long awaited return amounts to a cheap pep talk about how they've apparently put everything that defined their existence behind them. It's completely undeserved and unsatisfactory. But that's just my opinion.
