It's just that whenever I read about someone, I place myself in their shoes. Sometimes it's vivid. The thought of me living off someone else's misery like that made me feel disturded and disgusted at myself.
Plus I have psychological issues regarding persistent problems and not getting closure. When I come across a problem I want it solved then, there and forever. I know my approach is flawed though. In fact my last commander told me "The way to hell is paved with good intensions, and I see you ending up in the biggest cauldron".
In stories I actually like the fallen hero stereotype (unless he is Anakin Skywalker) and the extremist who was right all along.
