Sure my student ID worked at the nice big fancy college downtown as well, but it was quite a drive. Still worth it. That library was gorgeous. Several stories, archives, microfiche, private rooms, great WiFi, comfy chairs, a cafe, everything.
If I had a big paper to write I would drive down and spend the day there, enjoy a lunch on the lawn and feel like a real College student for a day.
Now I work full time and I'm finishing my bachelors online, so now I have no library at all, and our public libraries are basically

Thank god for the Internet and e-books. Nowhere near the same as a nice library but I think Twilight would die for a kindle or Wikipedia.
