>>27248126>but it think we can agree that getting hit with a quickly moving "100 ton" boulder, then getting pinned under it is significantly more damaging then hitting a hollow log at high speeds. That's the thing, getting hit with a boulder ISN'T more damaging than hitting a log.
As for getting pinned under it, we can't make any assumptions seeing as the rock is irregular and the ground is soft.
People survive getting pinned under cars and even buildings with little more than scratches to show all the time
(I'm one of them).
First, we need to understand what causes injury in this case: A rapid change in velocity.
In scenario Rock, RD has an initial speed of 0 mph, and her wing is hit with a rock going (let's say) 50mph, she's instantly propelled downwards to the ground at 50mph, and the point of impact (her wing) absorbs all the kinetic energy from her body.
In scenario Log, RD has an initial speed of 50mph, and her wing hits a log standing still (i.e., speed of 0mph), she's instantly stopped to a near-standstill (or a few miles per hour), and the point of impact (again, her wing), absorbs all the kinetic energy from her body.
Point is, it's the SAME AMOUNT of energy causing the SAME AMOUNT of damage, disregarding minor factors like the non-infinite mass of the rock and the springiness of wood.
>So you're telling me that she got her injury by hitting something on both sides of her, but nothing else?Or she hit something with her injured wing, spiraled out of control and lost most of her speed, and then hit her head on something. There are tons of scenarios that could have caused that injury.
>she most likely wouldn't make a mistake like thatIn Read it or Weep? This is an assumption, and we know from before that RD makes a ton of mistakes, especially in S1 and S2, often crashing into RD's or Rarity's homes.
