>>33772959>Or was that account created simply as a backup out of fear that her tumblr would get nuked during that automated purge that swept through tumblr a few months ago? That's what I presumed as well
>>33772693I said it before, and I'll say it again, auto screenshotting is a poor way of archiving. Sure it looks good for overall eyeballing the changes, but it's only that. If Loona were to post some media linked offsite, hide some data inside the image (such as in EXIF tags, for instance), or just hide something in the image but occupying tiny fraction of the image, so it isn't visible in thumbnail, or even post animated media or audio - all of that is not captured by taking a screenshot, and in case of quick post deletion so that no one else notices - lost, despite there being an active archive, the irony.
Not even mentioning that you can't simply diff two screenshots to detect a difference automatically, as could be the case with plain text HTML files.
Taking a snapshot in full form (like the folks at
archive.org do) is a better way to do archiving, especially for such a volatile blog as askloona.
Now, I haven't used it myself, so can't quite say if this one is a remedy to everything I outlined above, but if I may offer an alternative, I'd suggest looking at
https://github.com/ArchiveTeam/grab-site#tips-for-specific-websites (see the note about Tumblr) from the folks at
archive.orgI'd wager that it even takes up less effort than setting up a headless browser, as was the case with auto-screenshotter, I presume.
