Well, it would be more exact to say that I'm half-deaf. People thought that I was an autistic child since I wasn't speaking very well until they found out when I was 4 that I was deaf. Took me two years to get to the same level as the others children and my hearing aids help a lot but it's not perfect.

They're pretty tight, story-telling wise.
Each book is a self-contained story with not a whole lot of overlap besides the ones around Martin the Mouse Warrior.
Basically, they each follow a different generation at RedWall, which means they're pretty easy to pick up and read at any point in the series.
One thing that bugged me though was that the first book clearly portrays the creatures as actual, tiny rodents and whatnot living in the real world, and that there are humans we never see.
This is abandoned in every book after and the world is made out more to be one where humans aren't around.

Maybe it was once a law that, in exchange for equal rights and all that, all monogamous stallions must have sired at least a foal with at least three other mares, not including their current partner? Fair enough. It's OKAY and there's something to be said about it being the first mainline 3d final fantasy game, but it's far from perfect.. The story loses a lot of focus when you exit Midgar for the first time, and often gets bogged down by needless filler.
Like, the first third of the game is just aimlessly wandering around aimlessly looking for Sephiroth, with Cloud having "episodes" in between, unlike 6, where your objectives are more clear cut.

Different anon here. Still think that FFX was underrated. Yeah, Tidus was a 'tard, but the way the story was conveyed to the player was done pretty well, and I did like how the grid system was laid out (specialized into "classes"at the start but everyone could eventually learn everyone else's skills). Fuck the chocobo racing minigame in particular though.

You're not even wrong. I think that their first experimental toe-dip into 3D was charming, even when you compare the weird monsters that... what do you even call what FF7 did? Where instead of textures you had colors everywhere? Because a lot of the monsters were just blobs of color, especially the various Jenova encounters. It's weird looking at the splotches of color in FF7 and then looking at the (comparatively) impressive actual pixel textures of FF9. I've got it (actually, both of'em) in disc form for the PS1, but I lost the remote for the only tube-TV I have, so I'm playing it on Steam with a 3rd party USB controller. The story of FF7 was lacking, but I really liked the soundtrack. There was so much more room on the discs, and they really went all out. I can almost excuse the lack of story since this was the first time they had done 3D and they were trying not to fuck up. And again, I mostly like it because of nostalgia, and I can still remember eating pot noodles while sitting on the couch next to my brother while he fucks around. I was only 6 when the game came out in 1997, so he even read the text out loud for me because he could read a lot faster than I could.
