1. They're scared of their rapist and are being threatened into silence
2. They're not sure who did it
3. Going through the many hours of court proceedings is difficult, time consuming, very costly financially, and will make them relive their trauma as they're questioned again and again by police and have to repeat their statements. They may even start to doubt themselves and their own story.
4. Pressure from friends and family not to report the rapist if the rapist is another member of the family
5. Self doubt, thinking they deserved it, not quite remembering what happened because of roofies, or that it's "too late now" to report it
6. If they were raped when they were a child or teen they may think it's too late to report it, have backlash from family that doesn't believe them, etc.
It's a pain in the ass to go through after experiencing such a traumatic event. Just because there's some, SOME women out there who make false rape claims, is no reason to stop believing real vicims. Not everyone believes a woman when she gets raped, as much as 4chan may believe otherwise, especially if she has plain awful family members or the rapist is otherwise an upstanding member of society. Many abusers seem to be angels to outsiders. Most women are also not stoic emotionless rocks, especially not after getting raped. I know 4chan may not really have as many experiences thinking from womens' perspective since you guys deem us more "privileged" just as feminists deem men more "privileged", but the truth is both genders suffer, just in different ways. 4chan has definitely given me perspective into the problems of men in society, and I hope this post has enlightened you a bit today, too.
