>>37015331I've never been really bothered by her wings or even the whole "princess" thing. In fact, I find her wings really cute. No, what bothered me was the character assassination more than anything.
>inb4 lol people changeNo shit, but the abrupt change in her personality immediately following MMC was just too hard to swallow. Besides, Twilight was mishandled even prior to MMC and wings in episodes like Feeling Pinkie Keen; and even though I like Lesson Zero, I look back at it now with a slight tinge of frustration because it became a reference episode for new writers. Twilight's neuroticism was always just one piece of her personality only for it to eventually become her primary trait because of that episode.
Hell, Twilight's tendency to "freak out" sometimes is what made me relate and fall in love with her to an extent. The kind of stress I'm under makes me "freak out" sometimes too, but once it became a running gag of sorts it just became annoying and grating. It became especially annoying when she starts freaking out at seemingly random bullshit in the much later seasons. It just screams of
>Hey guys! Remember your "old Twilight"? Haha, look she's doing the freak out thing! This is totally what made you like her as a character, right? RIght?tl;dr I miss snarky, analytical, and only occasionally a little 'off' Twilight.
I try not to obsess over it too much anyways since we all have our own version of our "perfect Twilight" in a sense that is detached from the canon. Whatever that Twilight is for you is the one you're getting in Equestria.
