You see unlike you I actually know what makes S1 tick and what S1 needed. S1 was only good for the charming asshole characters, no I definitely cannot say the Mane6 are innocent heroes, they're disgusting opportunists you can't help but find charming... like cats. Cats are assholes, but they're so cute you excuse their bullshit.
I rate S1 a solid 6/10 , maybe a separate specific 8/10 for that unique atmosphere it gave that puts other relaxing/comfy shows to shame such as Bluey, LittleWolf, Hilda, etc.
DC Super Hero Girls was superior to S1 in terms of content, action, opportunistic assholes being given more interesting stuff to do, but atmosphere wise DCSHG lacks that comfy scene and prefers too much slapstick. Faust and every CN creator sucks at slapstick, it's the only thing they do and they are obsessed with copying Tom & Jerry, UPO cartoons, Ren & Stimpy, etc. I would not hire CN writers for 3D characters, deep story, deep lore.
Kids Next Door was the only one which came close and that was a normal thing for the Fox cartoons like Spiderman, Batman, Superman, TMNT 2000s. Only good shows I remember CN ever doing on their own was Pirates of Dark Water and Swat Kats.
