G5 literally remembers nothing from the "old times", to the point of anything old-equestria related being a highly obscure archeological topic, forgotten and unknown by all but the 2 or 3 ponies that dabble in archaeology (Sunny's family).
There's a literal disconnect between old culture and "modern" culture in G5's universe, so next to no cultural event/tradition would survive.
Do you know about ANY celebration/tradition that the Carthaginians performed? You probably don't, so you coming outta nowhere and suddenly performing them exactly like back then would be a complete non-sequitur.
I do like G5, but even you gotta recognize that the last seasons of G4 and the G5 movie could've been far better if they had considered their shit better.
I ain't even mad about giraffetwilight, ponk having a kid or anything else, but I do feel like S8-S9 were rushed and written very poorly.
