This was the first MLP episode I watched, I was 6 at the time. It was such a great episode, I didn't watch any other episodes because I thought the show was for girls.
Now I'm here, in 2023, and I've been a horsefucker for 1 year now.

Also I don't want to hijack this thread, but I've wondered for a while, do SGaP fans separate TSM and later works? Since the latter stuff tends to be a bit to very different, much less pure vocal chop work. Also do people consider one better? Personally I'm not as much of an SGaP scholar (as the above opinion may suggest lol) and I think I generally prefer TSM, but I also haven't listened as much to S2 and the others.

I never understood this attitude of like, well I don't identify with my pony identity anymore. It seems like it's just another way so say I don't care about ponies anymore, which is weird because it's a good show so why not - have your tastes really changed so dramatically over ten years? Were you just a bandwaggoner the whole time? Who really knows.
That said this song is pretty and I'll always remember it and respins contributions to our vibrant artistic space.

I separate them in the sense that they're not the same work, but I don't as well because it's all made by the same guy. My opinion is that TSM is SGaP's weakest work, his best being everything he sings himself, notably S2. I think that's due to the reduced boundary only using show voice clips as vocals and therefore more compositional freedom.

Yeah I draw a line between TSM and his vocal work. He was very personally expressive in the s2 era onward - his highly thematic releases like space pony are equally less expressive and genuinely emotional IMO. I love most of it though; the standard model will always stand in its own class of clean, bright, vaporwave-y beauty. And S2 is so full of wonderful musical ideas, told through the familiar stories of the show interpreted through a poignant philosophical lens.

i do think its very possible to no longer be inspired by something. fim fell off and there was not very much to love after season 2. i assume people with strong opinions about artists "moving on" aren't creative. they might draw but they only make porn. they might mix sounds but its just ai porn. even if its inspired, its not inspired by mlp its just another series with pony in it like fallout equestria or team fortress 2 or something. its real easy to remain inspired if lust is the only quality to be satisfied
