>>39752772I might have been hyperbolizing it, but it's only really evidence that they know the problems with the show, but they weren't making an attempt to fix them. Granted, I'm not sure how they would go about reversing all of the decisions that caused the rot in the first place without it blatantly tanking the writing, that being the decision to have Starlight Glimmer be Twilight's student and the introduction of the Student Six, ultimately resulting in the show diverting its attention three ways between the CMC, Mane Six + Glimmer, and the Student Six, which then resulted in less depth to each set of characters.
I get that the show is primarily aimed at younger audiences and therefore isn't the Citizen Kane of writing, but it did have some depth that faded away over time and became too focused on escalating the stakes and scope of the two parters when it came to the later seasons. I suppose the only way to change this would've been prevention and less seasons, I believe Hasbro extending the show past its lifetime ended in seasonal rot, much like many other cartoons before it.
