Hasbro has not been subtle in treating G5 as second class right after the movie. The rest of it feels like a skeletal outline they had.
G4 has been treated as a semi active brand through this entire gen. G5 is treated worse than most mid gen gimmicks for MLP ever were, sure its longer; but considering their original goal is getting unlocked march next year...
Well, the abnormal length probably ain't cause it was over performing I'll say that much.
This is a gen where they literally sold a cameo character for most of the merch line repeatedly because she was the main character of the last and most iconic one.
I'd argue something like watching MLP is almost normal in the current climate; not more risky.
Its not just corps that did it, its no longer new; we have a sizable chunk of people who straight up just grew up with this around.
People may note and cry about grooming a tad more but its literally screaming into the void on average. Literally what community have you seen that dies from this?
