>>8582557That's interesting, I've never heard the word used in that sense before. I learned something today.
I can see how that might be annoying (though it usually just makes me want to scratch her behind the ears). There are certainly times where it's obviously been a case of "Okay, Twilight's in this scene and we need to remind the audience of that. Any ideas?"
"Not really. Let's just do what we always do, we can work on it later if we have time. Besides, it's almost lunch."
"Right. Okay."... and then it just stays there anddoesn't do much to carry the plot forward. Or they'll use it for exposition that ends up being too blunt, which is arguably worse. But I think it could be more than just >opinions, I mean it's the same thing and like I said, I get why you feel that way.
When it's good though, when the writers get it right, those moments are kind of great. Even if they're repetitive and predictable, they do the business of advancing the plot at the same time as they showcase her being overcome by gleeful obliviousness at the chance to broadcast one of her favourite elements of her identity. They're as much about her as what she's saying.
I think Rarity suffers from this too, in another way. People find her annoying and her worst detractors accuse her of being a vapid, vacuous, socialite obsessed with vanity. Her little outbursts probably make them cringe in the same way that Twilight's do for you. But, as a Rarifag, I'm assuming that at least sometimes you see something more behind that.
