What are the boogeymen that anons have blamed for 4chans problems throught the history of this site?
The ones that i can think of are:
MAL, Gaia, Stormfront, Neogaf, Reddit, Tumblr and 9gag.
What are some other examples?

The critical flaw of all the calls for some cultural revival of "old 4chan" and most of the attempts to improve 4chan is they never turn a critical eye towards 4chan or consider that a lot problems stem from things 4chan fostered.

It took off surprisingly well due to all the media attention it got that attracted hardcore lefties instead of the small gang of trolls it was intended for, plus the fact that reddit's staff are hypocritical incompetent baboons.
If you were around in 2012/2013 then you'd have known almost everyone was taking the piss on SRS until the violentacrez incident when the staff began to side with them under negative media pressure.

I was around and I am aware of what they are and their origin. You know that time when "shitlord" started appearing all over 4chan especially /v/, when during E3 2014 we got flooded by these SRS and tumblr fags legitimately complaining about how white and male the games they showed like Ass Creed Unity were, I remember that too.

It's because I was around for that shit that I remember they were much more than just a boogeyman they seriously tried to infiltrate into our boards and my homeboard and for awhile they did, but like I said they fucked off after a while and now their influence and their pathetic little "Fempire" on reddit is a joke, but they were not just a boogeyman back then.

All of these really are sources of problems though. Well only reddit really has any sort of effect anymore, but that’s mainly because all the other sites died out and their userbases migrated to reddit. And now redditors are migrating here. It’s not hard to see. The overall 4chan culture has become much more vain and lacking in self awareness in recent years. You also have people openly defending reddit when just a few years ago almost everyone on this site hated reddit or didn’t care about it. And there is now a significant portion of the userbase requesting IDs for every board on 4chan to turn this site into their controlled safe little reddit 2.0.

Those were mostly /pol/'s boogeymen.
In 2012 they were fixated on JIDF.
In 2013 they were fixated on SRS.
After that I'm not so sure, although obviously they became fixated on CTR in 2016.

I speak from an experience as a day 1 /pol/ack currently in exile.
