relegated to the old 2.0/1.0 web. there will be new more popular services which are more integrated with new technologies like alexa and cloud services which allow a lot of things we can't do now

no i'll be not using them. in 10 years what i'll want to read isn't going to be written on imageboards. right now technically it isn't even written on imageboards. i'll maybe use some vr imageboard but that's doubtful

Imageboards will basically be the shitposting centers of the internet. The other forums which enforce their rules more strictly will have taken the last hobbyists from smaller boards in as refugees. We will still be posting Pepes and Wojaks since all the creativity and any semblance of effort that imageboards used to have has died long ago thanks to phoneposters. Since imageboards attained a reputation of being for edgy teens, the people on this site will mostly be unironic fascists and other mentally ill schizo rejects who have been thrown out of the more sensible communities. There will not be a single thread worth reading, never mind worth replying to.

They'll be very much the same but with new and improved (?) infrastructure. Not much has changed about bulletin boards since their inception, there are still about 100 terrible posts for every single insightful post.
Can't say for certain whether I'd be there or not. If they're interesting or entertaining then I'll likely remain, otherwise I'll just head for some greener pasture.
