As far as I can tell, Reddit and Tumblr are both srs bzns, with Tumblr being all SJWs and that fucking abhorrent "ALL OF THE [X]" meme, while Reddit, in my head, is nothing but r/mensrights and r/atheism, both of which are despicable shitholes.

If I'm wrong, then so be it; I doubt there's anything unmissable on any of these websites. There's certainly nothing unmissable on 4chan; I just like funposting and stress-free bantz.

Reddit on the other hand is mostly just a glorfied link aggrigator with a comments section stapled on, it's layout and interface is awful, you have to open each individual link to get more than a vague general idea based on the subbreddit of what's being posted, and relevant content is sent through the filter of their voting system so you are forced to slog through every thread to find content.

From what I've seen here over the years they both have some truly terrible communities and subcultures but as to the websites themselves being judged on the merits of their use, functionally, and ability to generate original content tumblr it's better than reddit.

tumblr is by far the better designed website, where most of the time you'll just be looking at pictures if you don't actively seek out stuff to make you mad. Reddit comment sections and their culture are absolutely infuriating, no matter where you go, and the way karma works is just a badly designed system at its core.

I've been on 4chan since 2006 so I'm pretty jaded, but I can use tumblr without it making me mad. Even though the activist side of it is absolutely crazy. Reddit just pisses me off whenever I visit a thread on there.

In tumblr's defense, I see what I want to see, if one of the blogs I follow is a SJW I'll just unfollow them. Reddit on the other hand pushes the cancer into your face, the upvote and downvote system makes it even worse. If you open any post you have to shove through dozens of comments circlejerkers upvoted.

That's really not how it works. Spend a little more time lurking before you spew out dumb opinions. On 4chan nobody's gonna stop you from discussing a certain viewpoint people dislike outside of a few exceptions, in which case people just leave and find somewhere that allows it.

Reddit will just ban your ass and hide the comments and bury them so nobody reads it. Here all posts are in order, all stand equally. There the popular opinions get upvotes, everything else is hidden and not read.
